Our Core Values Our Core Values: The following core values serve as guideposts as we work together to build the Kingdom of God. Each value derives from the centrality of our belief in Jesus Christ and the high calling of the Great Commission. (Matthew 28:18-20)
We value people. We strive to be a safe place where people of all backgrounds can worship God and experience the transforming love of Jesus. You will often see us use our motto “YOU MATTER” as our primary messaging from our church to the community we serve. Everyone matters to God. You Matter is our way of saying “Jesus Loves You.” We honor Scripture. Biblical teaching and biblical living are central to the worship and lives of Three Rivers. We believe the Bible is relevant, useful, and the instructive Word of God. Scripture plays a central role in our worship services and discipleship. We love our neighbors. The Kingdom of God is bigger than our church building. We believe that as disciples of Christ, God has intentionally placed people in our lives with whom we love and share Jesus. At our church, we call this our “Circle.” These are people with whom we naturally live, work, and play. We grow in faith. We believe that salvation is not static, but rather, we are each called to grow in our relationship with God towards holiness, and greater love of God and neighbor. We invest in one another and encourage discipleship practices that challenge and grow our faith. We do life together. Life isn’t meant to be lived alone. There is room for you here. Building strong relationships takes time and investment. We believe that becoming like Jesus involves belonging to a community. We believe our faith in Christ has the power to unite cultural and political differences. We keep it balanced. We value balance and rest. Organizationally we try to keep it simple. Our main areas of focus are Sunday Worship, Discipleship, and Outreach. We believe organizational simplicity allows for our best opportunities to share Christ through word and deed in our community. We live generously. As individuals and organizationally we practice generous living. All that we have been given is from God. We strive to invest in our community and partner with local and international missions to build the Kingdom of God. |
